Kayrock Screenprinting Fosters Artist Growth

Brooklyn-based Kayrock Screenprinting has multiple programs aimed at producing silkscreen prints, paper prints and books of art; however, the 100-year-old coverted rope factory is much more than the home of a studio offering printing services. Founded by Karl LaRocca in 1998, Kayrock is an artists’ collective that collaborates with other artists to create, distribute and promote their work to the betterment of all involved.

LaRocca himself paints, draws and prints – sometimes focusing on geometric shapes and color patterns, other times reproducing ATM receipts and discarded government documents. His work is exploratory and elegant: reserved with its statement and punctual in design and implementation. It’s the practical applications of art production that really make LaRocca and his studio stand out.
